Could It Be That Standing Is A Key To Keeping The Weight Off?
A team of scientists from the University of Missouri have revealed in a new study that standing may be just as important as exercise in the fight against obesity.
While the results of the study do not discount the importance of exercise, they do suggest that physical activity alone may not be enough to keep the fat off.
How so?
According to University of Missouri scientists, it appears that when we sit, the enzymes responsible for burning fat just shut down.
This is an intriguing new discovery as it was believed for years that computer technology, television and a vast variety of labor-saving devices were the culprits because they kept people from being physically active. The results emanating from the University of Missouri throw a serious wrench into that line thinking.
While you can bet that there will be much more information to come in the days ahead, in the meantime it is recommended that you make standing a serious priority during your daily routine.
