As President of The Wellness Councils of America, Dr. Hunnicutt is responsible for providing visionary leadership in advancing the vision of this national non-profit health organization. With 10+ years experience in leading organizations, Dr. Hunnicutt is widely-recognized as a national wellness expert. Through WELCOA's national Well Workplace Awards Initiative, David has helped organizations of all kinds successfully link health promotion objectives to business outcomes. Since 1995, WELCOA has become one of the nation's premier health promotion organizations in the U.S. - 1991 to 1995: President, Applied Health Research, Inc. (AHR)
As President, Dr. Hunnicutt led an organization that developed health promotion initiatives and national communications campaigns that were adopted and promoted by companies, universities, and federal and state agencies throughout the country. For the innovative and unique approaches to improving health, AHR's programs received a variety of national recognition and awards from such groups as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the NCADD, and the US Department of Education.
During his tenure at AHR, Inc., Dr. Hunnicutt served as a consultant to groups that included NCAA national championship football programs such as the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers and the University of Notre Dame, Fortune 500 companies such as Union Pacific Railroad, federal agencies including the US Department of Education, and nationally-recognized universities including Brown, Dartmouth, and Ithaca College.

- Keynotes and Audiences
Delivered approximately 300 national keynotes and presentations to such audiences as the National Chamber of Commerce, the American Journal of Health Promotion, the National Institutes of Health, the Federal Aviation Administration, the US Department of Health and Human Services, the US Department of Education, as well as Fortune 500 companies such as Union Pacific Railroad, DaimlerChrysler, and Johnson & Johnson.

- Books
Written and edited 15 books in the last seven years on the topics of developing corporate wellness programs, improving health and productivity, and linking health to business objectives. One of these books, Self-Care Essentials, WELCOA's medical self-care book, has sold more than 150,000 copies since its original print date in May 2001. - Magazines
Founder and Executive Editor of Absolute Advantage, a national corporate wellness magazine, that reaches more than 4,000 corporate and health leaders 10 times per year. - Health Newsletters
Executive Editor, The Well Workplace, a corporate employee health newsletter, with an annual circulation of 3+ million copies.
Teaching Experience
- 1997 to 2002: Adjunct Associate Professor, Methodist College of Allied Health, Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities included teaching courses in leadership, marketing and communications. - 1989 to 1993: Assistant Professor, The University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE.
Responsibilities included teaching courses in health promotion and leading university-wide health and risk management initiatives. Appointed to the Graduate Faculty in 1992.
